"Big Night" - big movie! Came away with a wonderful
feeling, and so did everyone else in the audience. The camera
was held like a window into these people's lives. It was very
intimate. In the final scene, when Stanley Tucci tosses the plain
omelet, it says it all.
Finally, a real movie with everything, and done to perfection
from beginning to end.
It still lingers in my mind weeks later. (That hasn't happened
in a long time!)

RESTAURANT REVIEWS
I live in Chelsea and frequent most of the
local restaurants in this area.
Le Zie
172 7th Avenue (212) 206-8686
If by chance you happen to be strolling down 7th Avenue,
and you happen to come upon Le Zie, this lovely and unassuming
little restaurant is full of surprises. The charming hostess
has a sincere and pleasant manner as she brings you to your table.
Everyone conspires to make sure that you're comfortable and have
a delightful dining experience. The table is provided with fragrant
olive oil and delicious home-made bread. The Venetian-style food
is a departure from the usual italian fare found in a neighborhood
restaurant. Of particular notice, is the excellent meatballs
and spaghetti, for which this bistro is noted. The generous portions
and reasonable prices make it a reliable destination for friends
or family to meet for any occasion.
Raymond's Cafe
(on 7th Ave. between 15th and 16th Streets) is always a treat.
Great hamburgers!
Tea and Sympathy
Also on Greenwich Avenue, is a unique experience in a low-key
English style tea room.
If your a fan of bangers and mash or trifles, this is the place!
For Chinese, there's no other spot then
Sammy's
on 6th Ave. between 10th and 11th Streets.
Try the over-sized steamed pork bun or the Taiwanese Cold Noodles.
All of the portions are enormous, and quite reasonable. Be careful
not to order too much, (unless you want to take home half the
meal!)
